Scott has a unique, innate ability for finding and revealing the true heart of a story in a way that draws the viewer in like a trusted, fascinated friend. He's an award-winning and seasoned Executive Producer, Creative Director & Writer-Producer-Director, with an extremely diverse blend of skills and experience that inform all of his work. He started his career at MTV, following his passion for music, and has since followed his boundless curiosity to create countless hours of video content, across genres and media platforms - Broadcast, Digital and Advertising & PR and beyond.
As Executive Producer/Creative Director of Video for boutique Digital Agency TheVisualMD, he helped define a groundbreaking style of scientific and artistic video storytelling on the subjects of Wellness and the human body, working with giants in the field of health and medicine. His VMD content has been featured at the prestigious TEDMED conference/think-tanks. (He had never worked in Health prior to that job.)
A diverse array of projects in recent years includes: serving as Supervising Post Producer on the hit Discovery ID true crime doc series “Evil Lives Here” for Red Marble Media; directing 2 short documentaries on the historical resort town of Arnolds Park, Iowa; continuing to produce content for Little Steven Van Zandt’s Rock and Roll Forever Foundation; and creating new content in the Health & Wellness space. In 2015, Scott directed 6 branded documentary profiles with the Tribal Worldwide/DDB agency for Pfizer. He also helped lead a team with Advertising media giant Omnicon Group to create 66 submission films for the prestigious Cannes Lions Awards for creativity. He has created branded content for Frito-Lay, Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer, Quest Diagnostics, Philips, and many others. Scott's specialty is creating advertising content that rings with authenticity through story, bringing a brand and its values to life.
in 2013, Scott created the two-time Telly Award-winning web doc series "It's Who You Know" (IWYK) with frequent collaborator Eric Feldman about remarkable people they personally know. This original passion project has given Scott the opportunity to artfully expand his roles into Director of Photography and Editor. (He also co-composed the music).
Scott got an internship at MTV near the end of college (when MTV was music), and quickly rose to Writer, working in MTV News, then becoming a Producer/Director. He soon after moved to VH1, where he won 2 CableACE Awards (merged w/ Emmys in late 90s) for his music documentaries, by his mid-20s - working with some of his heroes like Bonnie Raitt, Daniel Lanois, David Lynch, and countless others. He was nominated for several awards. He went on to create and contribute to an eclectic array of compelling video work: TV shows, promos, commercial and marketing content, music videos and more - for the likes of A&E Biography, PBS, Turner Classic Movies, ESPN, TNT, USA, Warner Music, Fujisankei, various ad agencies and more.
Scott was born & raised outside of NYC, in New Jersey, which speaks to his penchant for both diversity and resilience. One of his earliest childhood memories is going to Louis Armstrong's funeral. He is an omnivorous foodie, amateur chef, active traveler, vintage guitar geek and often rides his bike really far.
He is also an accomplished musician. More on that here.
Throughout his career, Scott has worked with some amazing, multi-talented people - and continues to do so. Below are a few of his most frequent collaborators: _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
